What is Vedic Astrology?

Vedic astrology, or Jyotish, is an ancient system from India that maps the positions of the planets and stars at the moment of your birth. Rooted in thousands of years of tradition, it uses the sidereal zodiac, aligned with the actual positions of the constellations, rather than the tropical zodiac used in Western astrology. The result is a deeply rich and nuanced map of your life. 

At its heart, Vedic astrology is about timing and cycles. It reveals the patterns and themes that shape different areas of your life, and the timing of when those influences are most present. Think of it as a map of possibility, illuminating the path ahead with greater awareness and intention.

I'm Dana Varcoe, a certified Vedic astrologer with a Master of Arts in Jyotish. I came to this work after nearly two decades in banking and fintech, following a curiosity that led me somewhere I didn't expect. That same curiosity shapes every reading I do. I want you to leave with clarity, deeper self-understanding, and something that stays with you long after our session.
